BarnDoorz is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, or keyboard-only navigation.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and are the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

What we have done

We regularly review barndoorz.com against WCAG 2.1 AA and fix what we find. Work completed so far includes:

  • A visible keyboard focus indicator on every link, button, and form field
  • A "skip to main content" link at the top of every page
  • Menus that open, close, and announce their state from the keyboard
  • Text and button colors that meet the WCAG contrast minimums
  • Descriptive labels on form fields, buttons, images, and embedded content
  • A logical heading structure on every page
  • Keyboard-operable image carousels and product galleries
  • Ongoing automated testing of the site's main pages

Known limitations

Some parts of the site are provided by third parties and we have limited control over their accessibility. We are working with those providers and will update this page as improvements are made. These currently include:

  • The checkout, hosted by our ecommerce platform
  • Email sign-up pop-ups and the live chat widget
  • Embedded social media posts
