If you plan to finish your Modern Barn Door, we offer the following process and product recommendations.

Select a high-quality finish and primer from a reputable manufacturer. We use water-based finishes but you may prefer oil or solvent-based products.

If you need to store the door for an extended time before finishing, apply a good wood sealer or primer.

Before finishing, let the door sit for 24 to 48 hours in the room where you plan to install it. This lets the wood adapt to the temperature and humidity in your space.

Do not expose the door to heat or air conditioning before the finishing process is complete.
